Event description

Free Public Lecture

Charles Sturt University is proud to host a public lecture by the Bathurst Refugee Support Group.

You are invited to hear from keynote speaker Adjunct Associate Professor Eileen Pittaway AM, MBA, Phd.

Eileen will talk about the fantastic refugee women she has worked alongside, both overseas and following re-settlement in Australia—their amazing strength and
courage, what they have achieved and how they have danced as well as cried together.

Over the past twenty years Eileen has conducted research, provided training to refugees, UN and NGO staff in refugee camps and urban settings, acted as a technical advisor to a number
of projects, and evaluated humanitarian and development projects in 18 different countries.

In 2017, she worked with UNHCR, conducting an audit into gender aspects of The Global Compact on Refugees, presented at the UN General Assembly 2018.

Please join us on the evening of Thursday the 7th March 2024 at 6:00pm for 6:30pm start.

Venue: Charles Sturt University, Panorama Avenue Bathurst NSW 2795, Building 1292, Level 2, Room 223 (Please follow Event Signage on Campus)

Light Refreshments will be served.

This is an International Womens Day event in partnership with the Bathurst Refugee Support Group
